Carol Viele received her MSN from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is a clinical nurse specialist in hematology-oncology-bone marrow transplant at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center (UCSFMC). She is responsible for education and teaching of both the inpatients and the staff, including material on specific chemotherapeutic agents, administration techniques, and managing patients’ symptoms related to their treatment or disease. In addition, Ms. Viele is an associate clinical professor in the Department of Physiological Nursing at UCSFMC.

Ms. Viele is a member of several professional organizations including the International Society of Bone Marrow Transplant, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Nurses' Association, and the Oncology Nursing Society. She is a nationally recognized expert on nursing care of cancer patients, with a focus on cutting-edge therapies, including bone marrow transplant.
